Iva's BD card 2012

This is Iva's birthday card for this year.  It is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol (seems to be the only medium I use nowdays).  The white paper that I stamped on is just GP from Walmart.  The surround is holographic paper and the green cardstock is Coredinations.  The cut file I used on this card is a free cut file from Birds Cards and she has several cut files and digi stamps on her site.

Kelli's Bosses Day Card 2012

This is the card that Marc and his co-workers asked me to make for Kelli's bosses day card.  The outline is a free cut file from Monica's Craft Room which I uploaded to use on my SCAL program and cut from holographic paper.  The stamp is one that I have had for a few years and was colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.

does anyone know what mmtpcritterchristmas stamp might be?

I have, at some time, downloaded a picture of a card with a cat with a santa hat on and a mouse with a mistletoe and all I have listed is mmtpcritterchristmas and I have no way to find who made the card or the stamp it was made with.  If anyone knows the site I can go to I would really appreciate the help in locating this.  Please email me at lenoriakelly@att.net with any info.  Thanks a bunch!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas blessed with family and friends.  My Christmas was so full and wonderful and I consider myself to be SO blessed!!  All but one of mine and Marc's children and their families were here last night, Heather could not make it since she lives in SC, but she called.  One of my brothers, his wife, and his daughter were here and one of my nieces and her husband came up, as did my ex-mother and father-in-law.  Also, one of Angel's friends was here to share the meal with us.  So, all in all it was a great evening!  We did not buy gifts for anyone except for the children, all the grown-ups just talk and visit.  Some of my family from Christmas Eve came back today for re-runs on the food and I still have a lot left over.  I don't cook "major" meals except on holidays but I do enjoy the cooking and the family and friends who come and help enjoy it.  So, for anyone out there who reads my little blog I am sending you lots of hugs and wishes for a Merry Christmas and hopes for a blessed and happy New Year!!!

Blue sparkle Heartfelt Creations card

The blue background for this card is the leftover from cutting the trim out for my silver background card made using the same stamp from Heartfelt Creations.  I then hand cut a silver trim for this card and used a sliver ribbon from Dollar General.  I used the Spellbinders 2011 ornament die to cut this out.

revised nutcracker card

I added a little bling to my nutcracker card.  I still have no idea where the little digi image is from but I think he is a cutie!

Grace's beautiful luminary

Grace at th-ink-ingofyou has an absolutely gorgeous luminary small enough to hang on a tree for an ornament.  I have enclosed her link so you can check it out.  I hope you enjoy it.  http://th-ink-ingofyou.blogspot.com/2012/11/a-snowy-sneak-peek-and-mini-tutorial.html

Silver card with mountain cabin

This card is made using Spellbinders die for the ornament.  The stamp is from the Heartfelt Creations Cozy Winter Days set. The silver cardstock is brushed silver from Your Scrapbook Superstore in Pigeon Forge and I am not sure of the company who makes it.  The blue sparkle paper is from Best Creations jewel cardstock but I also have some which is made by American Crafts which is a little thicker but has the same sparkle.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and used snow writer on the roof and when it was dry I went over it with Stardust stickles.  The blue ribbon is just a little cheapy from Dollar General.

Pink card with praying girl

This is a card I made and sent to a lady at Tennessee Stampers group.  It is a Sarah Kay stamp and the oval is a Sizzix Birds and Bloom embossing folder.

Ornament for Janice 2012

This is an ornament I made for my niece Janice.  I got the original plan from Tosha L. at stamptalkwithtosh web site last year.  She has a lot of beautiful creations on there and her design looks a lot better than mine does.  She dry embossed her paper.  Janice loved this and thinks it is "da bomb", so I guess that is what is important!!

Hope everyone had a Blessed Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!  I cooked my desserts Wednesday and cooked my ham, turkey, and dressing Thursday.  Most of my family were here and I had such a wonderful day!  I am so very, very thankful for my family and the fact that we are all healthy and able to enjoy time together.  My oldest granddaughter, Amiti, had to work yesterday afternoon, or I should say last night, she had to be at work at 8:00 p.m. and got off at 5:00 a.m. today!!  She works at Rue21 at Tanger Mall in Pigeon Forge and last night on the 11:00 news they showed Tanger Mall and all the people who were shopping.  The reporter said that people were having to park approximately two miles away to go shopping at the mall because all the parking spaces were full - that is true shopping dedication!!  I am not going shopping during all the madness and I haven't gotten to talk to Amiti this morning, hopefully she is sleeping, but I bet she got a real shopping education last night about how a lot of people act when trying to get a bargain.

Today was just a beautiful and peaceful day.  The weather was perfect and around 1:00 this afternoon Marc and I decided to get out and enjoy the weather so we had no plans on where we were going or what we were going to do - just get out for a while.  We stopped by the Lodge store and looked at all the skillets and dutch ovens and then onto The Kitchen Collection shop and Coleman.  From there we drove by my brother's near Sugarloaf but he wasn't home so we drove around to come home but turned right at the end of his road and went toward Bluff mountain.  When we came to Walden's Creek we turned right and went all the way through Walland and it was so pretty especially when you get to the almost one lane road which has been paved but not widened very much through the years.  My first time through this way was many years ago when my Dad was still alive and I would get him out and just drive wherever the mood struck just to have him out of the house for a little bit.  At that time the paved road suddenly ended and turned into a gravel  road with only tire tracks to follow.  The trees through there today were gorgeous!  They were still golden and a rust color with some evergreens tucked in for good measure.  The sky on the way home was a glorious pink and gray wisp mixture and it was so perfect!  A perfect ending to a perfect day which makes me think of the saying "God's in his heaven and all's right with the world"!!  That is how I felt today, just very relaxed and no worries.  It was such a good feeling and I feel so blessed and I know that God is always with me and I know all we have to do is give Him a chance and he will show us all his beauty in the world and everything happens for a reason and we just have to trust Him and he will take care of us! He will hold onto us if we will only trust in Him.  Even though we may have hard times God will bring us through them and appreciate the good times even more if we trust in God and know that He has plans for us.  Thank you God for everything you have so richly blessed me with - my loving family, a beautiful area to live, and all my other blessings.  (This is a message for me to read and remember because there are times when I get so downhearted, and even though I KNOW God is with me, I just need a reminder at times that things are going to get better and life will be easier - so I need to read this over and remember my own thoughts and message typed here!)

It is almost a new day and the beginning of a new week so I better get to bed so I can get some sleep.

Elizabeth Dulemba's Santa mouse

This is a card I made using Elizabeth Dulemba's cute little mouse.  I used Flower Soft ultra fine white for the fur on the hat and coat.  The greeting is computer generated and I used my Cricut to cut the frame around the Merry Christmas.  The circle and scalloped circle are cut with Nestabilities.  He was colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.

Royal blue and silver dove

This is a card made using Zing silver embossing powder and the Top Boss embossing ink and heat set.  The silver foil frame is from The Scrapbook Store in Pigeon Forge and I can't remember the manufacturer.  I used a silver brad in the lower corner and silver ribbon I bought at Joann's in the sewing section.  The stamp set is from Stampin' Up called Gifts of Christmas.

Janice's Christmas card 2012

This is Janice's Christmas card for 2012.  She always decorates with white and silver and I wanted to make her something sparkly and white and silver.  This card was made with Georgia Pacific cardstock from Walmart and I embossed the silver frames with Top Boss clear embossing ink and used Ranger silver tinsel embossing powder and heat set for the sparkly frames.  The dove was also embossed the same way.  The corners are from Paper Studios peel and stick and the embossing around the outside is done with a Darice scroll folder.  I could not get the sparkle to show up as well as it does in real life, but I think Janice will be happy with this one.

Christopher is 29 today!

Today is my son's 29th birthday!  It is so hard to believe that he popped in for a halloween surprise that many years ago.  He was supposed to be born on Thanksgiving that year and I was fine with that, I just wanted him to wait until after lunch because all my family got together at my Mother and Daddy's house for holidays and there was always so much fun, good company, and delicious food!  I did indeed get to enjoy all the food and festivities on Thanksgiving that year and so did Chris.  He was so tiny, he only weighed 4 lbs and 13 ounces but he got to come home with me the same day I was discharged from the hospital and we had to order special preemie diapers.  He was healthy and had no complications from being born almost a month early.  I hope my baby boy had a wonderful birthday and I am proud he is my son!!

My Cinderella and Rad Run

Amiti was Junior Princess at the Sevier County Homecoming game this year and I think she was the most beautiful one out there! (I'm a little biased maybe).   I am very proud of her because not only is she beautiful on the outside she is also very smart and has a kind and giving heart!  The top picture is on Saturday following the homecoming game when Amiti ran in the Rad Run which was held at Chilhowee Park in Knoxville where each team could choose which charity they were racing for.  The team Amiti ran with was donating to East Tennessee Children's Hospital.  The runners were bombarded with paint powder which is why she is so colorful in the picture.

My 16th wedding anniversary

Marc and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary on 10/18/12.  He had to work on that day but took off on Friday so we had a long weekend.  We went to Cades Cove and Roaring Fork nature trail and just played tourist.  It was a really great weekend and the weather was perfect except the dust storm blew in and made the air very cloudy and had a very odd yellowish hue to it on Friday.  I realize how very blessed I am - not only do I live in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, I have a very loving husband and a wonderful family!  Above are some pictures I made Friday.

Nutcracker card

This is a cute little digital download I got online.  I am not sure who drew this little guy but I think he is so cute!  Stephanie loves nutcrackers so this card is for her!  I used an embossing folder on the blue surround and the two red lines above and below the picture is just very thin strips of red paper.  I used white Ultrafine Flower Soft for the plume on his cap.  This card was just made and photographed today, 10/08/12 even though the date says 2004, I am using Shanna's camera and have no idea how to change or fix any of the settings on it.  This is not the greatest picture - but I am going to blame that on the fact that I don't know how to adjust the camera.

Christmas card using Elizabeth Dulemba picture

This is a card I made using an Elizabeth O. Dulemba picture.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and used white Ultrafine Flower Soft on it for santa's beard, hair, and coat trim.  The frame for the picture is a free SCAL download from Monica's Craft Room which I sized down to fit my picture and cut with my Cricut.  The sentiment is computer generated and the surround for it is the Celtic tag from Bird's Cards.  This picture was only taken today, 10/08/12, even though the date on the card says 01/01/04.  I am using Shanna's camera because mine died and I don't know how to change the settings on her camera or anything else.

I killed my memory card in my camera

I had family reunion pics and a bunch of other stuff on my camera memory card and for some reason it will not upload onto my computer and now when I put the memory card back into my camera it says "picture error" and won't show anything!  I have no earthly idea what I have done to it.  I had some pictures of the hummingbirds perched on a little bush next to my porch.  They are the cutest little things, one of them is a lot larger than the others and he has the green back and wings and then there are the tiny, tiny little ones which are a soft grey on their bellies and a little darker grey on their backs and wings.  When they are perched on the feeder they sometimes make the funniest little noise.  I had never realized that the hummingbirds make a chirping noise.  I really don't know who to ask about the memory card and if there is any possible way to retrieve the pictures on it, I may try taking it to Staples tomorrow to see what they can figure out, if anything.

Adjusting to lifestyle changes

Marc has had a cutback in his job which is going to be a $400 a month cut in our monthly income.  I know it may not sound like a lot of money to some people but it is to us.  I am trying not to worry about it because I know that God has always provided and always will!

It has been a beautiful couple of mornings here with the weather cooling down.  I have been watching the little hummingbirds on the feeder on my front porch and they are so cute and tiny, some of them are only about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long!  If something that small isn't concerned why should I be?  I have to remember what the Bible says about worry and just keep praying and keep going and enjoy all the beauty that God puts here for us each and every day!!

Elizabeth O. Dulemba's new printed book

I have added a link to Elizabeth O. Dulemba's page on this blog.  I have downloaded several of her coloring pages and have some Christmas cards using a couple of her drawings that I am going to post a little later.  Her pages are great to use for children's busy time and also for adults to use.  I have recommended her pages to everyone in my family and my friends who have children or grandchildren who like to color and I am honored to recommend her site on my blog!  Please check out her site and her new printed book.

First day of school fall 2012

Today is the first day of school in Sevier County.  It was approximately 63 degrees this morning and is supposed to be around 89 by 6 this afternoon.  When I got up at 5:30 this morning to make sure Angel was getting up for school and put the dogs out there was Orion in front of me (the fall sky is here) when I stepped out onto the front porch and to the left of it, to the east, there was a very bright planet.  I'm not sure which planet it was but it was extremely bright and a nice surprise to see in the eastern sky at that time of morning.

Creations by AR First Customer Blog Hop

CREATIONS BY AR CUSTOMER BLOG HOP
Welcome to the first Creations by AR (Adela Rossol) Customer Blog Hop.  I am stop #3 and there is a total of 9 stops (see below for complete list). If you got here from Mary’s blog; http://handmadeheartfelt.wordpress.com, you are in the right spot.  If not, please go back and check out her creation and maybe to the very start and visit with Lisa at http://craftingwithprincesslisa.blogspot.com.  I used the Tea Cottage template and a combination of Coredinations solid paper for the blue and yellow, and a paper I have had forever in my stash with no name on it, for the flower house to create a couple of gifts.

Unlike Lisa I did not make different pictures for different views of the house.  I did not add the picket fence on it.

I just love this Tea Cottage template (the direct link to this template is http://creationsbyar.com/TEA-COTTAGE_P_70.html) because it is easy to assemble and has so many creative possibilities (think different holidays).  You could put a battery operated tea light in it or just use your imagination for all kinds of uses.  Adela’s templates come in PDF for those who hand-cut their templates and cut file for use with a cutting machine.  There are freebies offered on the site, plus some templates are currently on sale.  Two new templates were released last week.
Now, what would a Blog Hop be without prizes?  One random commenter from each blog will win a template of their choice from Creations by AR.  Comments will close at midnight (Eastern Time) on Monday, August 6 and the winners will be posted in the afternoon on Tuesday, August 7.
I hope you enjoyed my Tea Cottage. Please hop along and visit Diana at http://kreativfenster.blogspot.denext. Don’t forget to leave some love along the way. We enjoy your comments and you may just win a template!
Here is the Blog Hop list:
Thanks for hopping by.

Janice's Birthday Card 2012

This is Janice's BD card for 2012.  She is 29 (again)!  I used a SCAL file from Paulo called baroquepoplabel for the surround and the corners are from Penny Duncan called SX fancy corner.  I think Penny and Paulo designs are a perfect pair!  The flowers are a prima bouquet which I bought at The Scrapbook Superstore in PF.

Dr. Huskey's Baby Shower Card

This is a card I made for Stephanie to take to work for the girls to give to Dr. Huskey for her baby shower.  I had not realized that I did not have any stamps for a baby card so I had to download this sweet little image from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

Kathy's birthday card 2012

This is Kathy's birthday card for 2012.  She likes green and since I could not be with her for her birthday I wanted to send her a hug.

Joann's thinking of you card

This is a card for a friend.  I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss the corners and a Stampin Up folder for the cross-stitch look on the flower.  The stamp is an old PSX rose which I love.  The sentiment is computer generated and the label is a SCAL file which I uploaded for free online.

Angel's 8th grade prom

8th grade prom
This is a couple of Angel's 8th grade prom pictures.

After the prom she was pooped out but wanted to leave her dress on until her Papa got home from work so he could see her in her dress and her hairdo.

Melba'a Mother's Day card 2012

This is a couple of pictures of Melba'a Mother's Day card from Marc.  I used a Prima arrangement with the butterflies and a SCAL file from Paula for the surround and just the ends from another cut file from Paulo.

Angel's 8th grade prom

How about those dimples?
Tonight is Angel's 8th grade prom.  It has been a hectic day for me trying to rush around and get all the last minute things taken care of - but we did it and she is gorgeous (she is always gorgeous but tonight she looks SO grown up!!)  I can hardly believe that my little girl (granddaughter actually) is this big.  I know she thinks she is grown but I still see her as my little girl who was always asking "but why Nana?".  When she was about 3 years old she told me that I needed a child and she was going to live with me, and she pretty much has.  Her mother just lives about 400 feet away from me so she is close by but Angel has her own room here.  I am attaching one of the pictures I made of her before she went to prom tonight, it isn't the best but I think it shows how much she has grown since she was 3!! It also shows my little raised beds that need weeded - and how about blue fingernails.   I think she is beautiful and I would not change my little brown-eyed angel.

Surprise Purse Valentines

These are some purses I made from the template I won from a blog hop at Creations by AR.  This is such a fabulous template and I have loved using it.  I made 10 valentine purses for the ladies at Marc's work and then Elaina and Sierra wanted me to make "special" valentines for their teachers and Sierra's bus driver.  This template could be used for anything just by changing up the closure and using flowers, buttons, a bow, or just about anything else!  Thank you to Adela for coming up with such a wonderful template and I am so glad I won it especially when I did because it has sure come in handy.  Thank you Adela and thank you Maria!

Iva's Christmas Card 2011

This is Iva's Christmas card for 2011.  It is a PSX stamp colored with prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  I added gemstones on the corners of the frame because she like "bling".  The background card was embossed with a cuttlebug folder.

Some Christmas Cards for 2011

This is a PSX stamp colored with prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  The gold around the edge is a gold leafing pen.  I wanted this outline around the house but the size of the Spellbinders was too small so Penny Duncan had this on her site as a free SCAL cut and I could size it to just the size I needed and this worked out great to me.  I only got a very few cards fixed this year since I broke my arm and did not have them fixed ahead of time, so this year I am starting early and putting them back so if something happens closer to Christmas maybe I will still have my cards ready to go out.  I made a few for the ladies Marc works with but I did not even get them scanned in.

I won!

I can't believe that I have won a book from Ann Martin's site allthingspaper.net about quilling and I also won two templates from Adele at Creations by AR!  Maybe this is a sign that I should get off my behind and start doing something creative.  I have never won anything in my life and to win two different things within two weeks of each other is just unbelievable to me.  Thank you ladies for making my life so much happier and I will try to create something that will make other people happy with the items you have given me!

Iva's BD card using Penny Duncan designs and Prima

This is a birthday card for my niece.  The paper is coordinations and the flowers are Prima.  The frame around the flowers and the decorative corners are from Penny Duncan Creations.  I love Penny's site because her designs are easy to use and change size because sometimes you just need a larger or smaller size than you can find on the metal cutters or anything else out there!  Thank you Penny for helping me make my few and far between creations look better.  (So sorry the picture is sideways).
