Sierra's BD card

This is Sierra's birthday card.  The mermaid image and the background are from Misskatecuttables.com.  The background is from various files pulled together to make the picture.  Sierra loves mermaids and is always wanting something with mermaids. This is a shaker card, the "sand" is sugar beads and there are a few gems inside that was bought at Hobby Lobby along with the flowers and dolphins on the corners.

Christopher's BD card

This is the card I made for Chris this year. These pictures are from Misskatescuttables.com. I cut the mummy out and pop dotted on front of the card. My husband Marc worked in the lab at the hospital and therefore the "Drac" on the inside.  The house is really supposed to be darker but the printer is going haywire but I just left the picture as it was.

The first card is one that I cut and assembled and could not file Lori's directions so I just did it the best I could, the second card is after Lori was sweet enough to get back with me and give me links to a YouTube video which showed how to assemble it.  This just goes to show that Lori's files are so easy to work with that anyone can put them together and if you should have difficulties she is great to respond to questions! I used all the design pieces from the file but changed the sentiment.  The stars on the first one are sparkled with Sakura Clear Star pen and the second one is sparkled with Stardust Stickles. All the wildfires in Gatlinburg and surrounding area

This has been such a scary day for people who live, work, or are visiting the Gatlinburg area.  There are fires that seem to be coming from all directions and the spur connecting Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is on fire also!  Gatlinburg has been evacuated as well as parts of Pigeon Forge. Please say prayers for all the people who are affected and all the helpers who have come in to help fight these fires.  Arrowmont was on fire at the last news cast I saw and they said there was 30 businesses on fire. It is just something we don't experience in this area and no one really knows what to do or how to respond other than pray and try to stay out of the way.  It is very smoky and smells like wood smoke here in Kodak but no fires that I know of. If any of you can get WATE TV news or WBIR to see a little of this and if you have ever visited Gatlinburg it is a sickening sight. I am sure it will be on national news since it is so huge. My heart just goes out to all the people who have lost homes and a lifetime of memories and things that are irreplaceable, but the important thing is to remember that being alive and having your family safe is the most important thing possible - so just give your love ones a big hug and thank GOD you have them to hug!!

Halloween Birthday

This is my son's birthday as well as halloween. I really don't "celebrate" halloween as far as going all out for it but I have always taken the kids and grandkids trick or treating. I have to say that Christopher was my best treat I have received for halloween, he was due on Thanksgiving but made his appearance a little early, I still had a week to work and had to call in on that Monday morning to let them know I would not be coming to work that day! Happy Birthday Christopher and I love you bunches!!

Seleha at 3 months

The top picture is Seleha, her mother Amiti, her "Lovey" (Amiti's mom) Stephanie, and Ina her great great grandmother.  The bottom picture is Seleha at 3 months. She is a very happy baby and is doing great.

Fall is in the air in East Tennessee!!

I finally feel that fall is in the air here, it was 59 degrees this morning when I took Elaina to school and some of the trees have started to change colors. I am so ready for cooler weather although I don't particularly like cold weather or the icy roads.

Elaina's 13th birthday card

Elaina's BD card for this year.  During the summer she had "sherbet" hair color so I tried to color in the same colors on her card. She turned 13 this year and it is so hard for me to believe she is a teenager already. The image is a digital image, colored  with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  The background  paper is also created with the pencils and oil because I wanted a rainbow of color to match the colors in the image.

Isn't he a cutie? This is Alexander a couple of months ago and I think he looks so cute in his hat.

Thank you card for Sheila

The background is from Heartfelt Creations as are the Vintage Floret Die for the flowers.  I cut the flowers twice and glued the first ones down flat on the designs on the die and then popped the second set up to do a 3D effect. The centers are self adhesive flat back pearls with Stickles around them for a little sparkle.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Card for Dorothy

This is a card I made for my friend Dorothy. The roses are cut using Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret Die, the easel card is Spellbinders scallop circles and the pretty inner design, butterfly, and leaves are JustRite dies Garden Circle, Elegant Garden Label, and Open Leaf Vines dies. Also a little sparkle was added with some crystals for the butterfly body and some Star Dust Stickles on the roses for a little extra.

The newest love in my life

This is my great granddaughter, Seleha Grace.  She weighed in at 5 lbs 11 oz and is 18 inches long (size of a baby doll) and she is such a blessing.  We have been so worried about her during this pregnancy and my granddaughter has had to go for ultrasounds two times a week because they did not thing the baby was growing as she should and the Friday before being born they told us she only weighed 4 lbs 8 ounces, so she surprised everyone. Her Mom had a rough delivery, or a scary one for us, about 5 minutes after the epidural was put in she started having problems with her blood pressure dropping dangerously low and had to be given Epinephrine and Seleha's heart rate going up to 214 and was rushed for an emergency c-section. The only reason she had the epidural was because her doctor convinced her to do it in case they had to do a c-section because of the baby but we never thought it would be because of her! Mom and little one are both doing great now even though Seleha has lost down to 4 lbs 1 oz when she was 5 days old.

My first and second easel cards based on Darsie Bruno's tutorial

I made two easel cards loosely based on the card Darsie Bruno made.  I have posted a link to her blog and she also has a youtube video on how to create this card.  I have never made an easel card and this one is not exactly like hers but I like the way it turned out.

Marc's valentine card 2016

This is the card I made for Marc this year using "fall squirrel" and "nuts for you" files from Miss Kate's Cuttables site.  The squirrel originally had acorns and leaves at the bottom and one he was holding but I imported the acorns with hearts on them from the "nuts for you" file and then just popped up two extra layers of the hearts on the bottom to stand out.  I just printed the leaves out for the corners and cut them with scissors.  On the inside I just printed the sentiment and did not cut it out.  Just a little glitter on some of the hearts and all done. I used crystal effects for his nose and eyes, one of the eyes shows up glossy and the other one doesn't.
