Almost 2012
It is almost 2012 and it is so hard to believe! I had a wonderful Christmas with a lot of my family here and all the talking, food, and friends. I love having people over! I fell a couple of weeks before Christmas and broke one of the small bones in my left wrist so I have a very awkward cast on - but I managed to cook for Christmas even though I had to find a glove to fit over the cast to work with it. Stephanie and Shanna came up and helped me out with some of the cooking, cleaning, and chopping which made it a lot easier for me and I enjoyed their company. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and I hope 2012 is a happy and prosperous year for one and all!!

diamonds on the lawn
The yard and everything looks beautiful today. It is so sparkly and everything looks like diamonds. There is a very heavy frost that is frozen on everything. It is very cold but with the sun starting to shine on it everything is gorgeous!

Donna's BD card 2011
This is Donna's BD card for this year. The picture is from Stampscapes and is four stamps combined to make the picture. It is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The surrounding paper is gold glitter paper and is not this many colors but is very irridescent. Happy Birthday, Donna and I hope you like the card!

Kelli's Boss's Day Card for 2011
This is a card for Marc's boss for Boss's Day 2011. The girls at the office asked him if I could make a card for them and this is what I came up with. The surround is made from a cut file from Monica's Creations and she has such elaborate designs! This one is sized to fit on a card made from an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper folded in half. The glitter surround is made from coredinations white glitter paper so I didn't have to add glitter for sparkle.
Stephanie's BD card for 2011
This is Stephanie's BD card for this year. The ironwork surround was made using a cut file from Monica's Creations. I put glitter on the cut after I glued it to the top of an 8x8 square card. The picture is In The Moonlight by Elizabeth O. Dulemba from JustRite Stampers. There is glitter on the winds and I love this little stamp. Unfortunately the color of the moon or the pale blue sky doesn't show up and neither does the sparkle. Stephanie was very pleased with the card, and that is all that really matters!
Shanna's BD card 2011
This is Shanna's BD card for her birthday tomorrow. I made the surround with a cut file from Monica's Creations with my Cricut. I stretched the design out to make it an oval and I really hated to put the picture in the center because the center looks like a delicate doily. Monica has some beautiful cut files to download on her site and they are all intricate like this one. I cut the white surround with scissors and the yellow background is just there to show up the design and not really part of the card design at all.

Beautiful Day
No card or anything creative today just enjoying a beautiful day that God has given us. It has been pleasantly warm but not so hot that I couldn't stand to be outside. We are all getting together at Stephanie's tomorrow after church "just because" and not for anything special but to enjoy family time. I enjoy these times together because my grandkids are growing up so fast, and I still can't believe that my kids are this old, it seems that they should still be teenagers or younger!

Wishing well for family reunion
I colored this card with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, cut the embossed edge with a Martha Stewart punch and dry embossed the trim with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots folder and added pink ribbon and bow and then mounted on coredinations bright pink paper.
Girl with cupcake card for family reunion
I think this is a Sarah Kay stamp but not sure and the stamp is in another room so I can't check right now. I love this design and think she is so cute! I embossed the surround with a QuicKutz Frame A2 and mounted it onto pink coredinations paper.
Northwoods duck and ducklings for family reunion
I colored the card with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and cut out and mounted on yellow cardstock which was trimmed with a gold pen and then dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and then mounted on white cardstock for the base.
Angel card for family reunion
I used "clear star" gelly roll pen on the angel's wings and they are very sparkly in real life and the golden halo around her is also sparkly, but unfortunately the sparkle doesn't show up when scanned.
Thinking of You card for family reunion
I embossed the card front using a Cuttlebug folder and heat embossed the Thinking of You using a combination of silver embossing powder and silver tinsel embossing powder and also made the silver layer around the card the same way.

Ike's BD card 2011
This is a very simple card for someone who does not like a lot of fuss or glitter and glam. I did use a Sakura Stardust pen on the fish to make it look like sun sparking off the scales and on some of the water ripples around it and then made a couple of score lines above and below the picture with my ScorPal and made a frame with my Nestabilities Labels One.

Just life and a card
Not much happening today. I have a card to post that I made for the Tennessee Stampers May card swap. I have been asked to make cards for door prizes at our family reunion again this year, so I really need to get started on some so I will have a bigger variety than I did last year. Last year it was just a spur of the moment thing and I didn't know if anyone would like them or not so it makes me feel good that people actually want me to fix them so they can have them!
The blue surrounding her or the sparkle on the water and can doesn't show up and the ground looks pink in this picture instead of brown but other than that I thought it was a cute card. I hope the person who received this liked it.

Heartfelt Creations Get Well Prayer for Melba
Marc's Mom, Melba, had to have a heart stent placed and I fixed this card for her. It is very simple but I think it is elegant and it came together very quickly. I also used a poem from Heartfelt Creations and gold embossed it for the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Angel's 13th BD card
Angelique turned 13 today! It is so hard to believe she is now a teenager, time passes so fast. This card is made with Karen's Doodles teenager on phone and Make It Crafty's Girls Messy Room (which seemed very appropriate for Angel's room)!
Amiti got her learner's permit
This is a card I made for Amiti to congratulate her on getting her learner's permit. I wish I could get the sparkle to show up on my cards, but at any rate, the baloons, Amiti's shoe, the stripes on the grill, and the headlights are sparkly. She was so excited when she got home and Stephanie had stopped and let her drive for about 4 or 5 miles to here and Amiti was absolutely shaking! I asked her if she was cold or scared and she said "scared, Mom let me drive from the little store on 338 to home and I had to drive across the bridge and it was so scary". Angel turned 13 yesterday also and the card I made for her is posted on my other post.

PSX rose cards
These are some cards made with a PSX stamp I found on Ebay. They are colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and the designs around them are Cuttlebug embossing folders.

Just this and that
I haven't posted anything lately but today I am adding a couple of Ol' Time photos of my oldest granddaughter and her "boyfriend" (I don't even like to think about her being even almost old enough to date)! I am also adding a picture of three of my other granddaughters.

Heartfelt Creations Wildlife Resort blank card
I left the inside of this card blank so Ina could send this with a personalized note inside. She sends out lots of thinking of you cards and just little notes so I made this one for a masculine card. I "love" the Heartfelt Creations stamps and they have several ones that could be for either a masculine or female card. I have used this stamp for get well cards as well as birthday cards.

White Christmas 2010
These are a couple of pictures taken on Christmas day in 2010. It was so pretty and it has been a long time since we had a white Christmas. It snowed off and on (mostly on) all day Christmas day and on the 26th we had around 6 to 7 inches on the ground. It looked so beautiful and I love it except for the icy roads and cold temps that went with it. A lot of people who rented cabins in Gatlinburg were snowed in because of the roads being so bad. In Wears Valley they had over a foot of snow on Christmas day and I'm not sure what the total was when it finally quit snowing.
